On January 2, 2023, President M. Katherine Banks shared a welcome back message, announcing her commitment to enhancing communication and engagement efforts university wide. One area mentioned includes a presidential committee formed to evaluate operational improvements and centralization initiatives underway.
Convened by Greg Hartman, Chief Operations Officer, a committee of faculty, staff and students will focus on the effectiveness and efficiencies gained through the implementation of new initiatives. The Operations Assessment Committee (OAC) is slated to meet regularly to review and assess continuous improvement efforts in the operational functions of the university. The first task of the OAC will be to conduct a one-year assessment of implementation of the Path Forward initiatives with a report summarizing that work in September 2023.
In support of the university’s mission to provide transformational education and translational research, the OAC will continue to provide recommendations to the president on organizational enhancements long after the report’s completion by identifying areas of success and seeking opportunities to positively address challenges within operations.
